Amplifiers Maintenance

Regular maintenance tasks to keep your amplifiers running efficiently.

Clean contacts and connections

Use contact cleaner on RCA, XLR, and speaker terminals every 6 months. Oxidized connections cause crackling and signal loss. Unplug and re-seat all connections during cleaning.

Clean Potentiometers

If volume knobs sound scratchy when turned, the pots are dirty. cleaning removes oxidation.

Dust Interior/Vents

Amplifiers generate heat and rely on convection. Dust buildup insulates components and causes thermal shutdown.

Inspect ventilation and vacuum interior

Ensure at least 4 inches of clearance above and behind the unit. Vacuum external vents with a brush attachment every 3 months. Tube amps: check tube bias annually and replace tubes when output degrades.
