Troubleshooting

Switch wear leads to double-clicking issues. Scroll wheels can break or become erratic due to dust.
Maintenance

For wireless mice, clean the charging contacts or replace AA batteries. For wired mice, check the cord for kinks where it meets the mouse shell.
Clean Mouse Buttons
Finger oils and dead skin build up on the left and right click buttons, eroding the plastic coating. Wiping them down maintains a clean grip.
Wipe Sensor and Skates
Dust and hair in the optical sensor cause cursor jitter. Grime on the teflon feet (skates) causes dragging and inconsistent movement.
