Troubleshooting

View all →

Common Failure Modes

Liquid spills and physical debris are the primary killers of keyboards. Mechanical switches can develop 'chatter' (registering double keystrokes), while membrane domes lose elasticity.

Maintenance

Blow Out with Compressed Air

Fine dust and persistent debris need to be forced out from under the keycaps. Compressed air prevents switch friction and failure.

Deep Clean Keycaps

Finger oils build up on keycaps, making them shiny and unsanitary. Removing and washing keycaps restores a like-new feel.

Shake Out Debris

Crumbs and hair fall between the keys, which can block switches and cause mushy typing. Regular clearing keeps keystrokes crisp.
