Troubleshooting
View all →Common Failure Modes
Port failure or signal degradation over time are the main issues. Active electronic components can sometimes fail, causing blinking displays or dropped USB connections.
Maintenance
View all →Check Cable Connections
Frequent switching can slowly pull cables loose. Ensure all USB and video cables are fully seated to prevent flickering or dropped inputs.
Power Cycle the KVM
Sometimes internal handshakes between the KVM and computers get stuck. A full power cycle resets the EDID logic and restores proper switching.
Update Firmware
High-end KVMs receive firmware updates to improve compatibility with new mice and monitors. Check the manufacturer's site to apply updates.
