Troubleshooting

Common Failure Modes

Traditional bulbs simply burn out. Modern LED bulbs usually fail at the driver (circuitry) before the light-emitting diodes die, causing flickering or dead bulbs. Integrated LED fixtures fail entirely and cannot be repaired, only replaced.

Maintenance

Check wiring and connections

Inspect visible wiring and switch connections annually. Look for discolored outlets, warm switch plates, or flickering that indicates loose connections. Call an electrician for any concerns.

Clean dimmer switches and smart controls

Wipe dimmer switches and smart light controls with a dry cloth monthly. Update smart bulb firmware when prompted. Reset dimmer compatibility if lights buzz or flicker after bulb replacement.

Dust Fixtures

Dust on bulbs and shades reduces light output significantly. Cleaning restores brightness.

Dust fixtures and replace bulbs

Dust all fixtures monthly with a microfiber cloth or duster. Replace LED bulbs when they dim noticeably or flicker. Clean glass shades with glass cleaner every 3 months for maximum light output.
