Remove the grille and gently blow out dust with a squeeze bulb (never compressed air which can damage the diaphragm). Wipe the grille with a slightly damp cloth. Dynamic mics are more tolerant; condensers need careful handling.
Saliva and moisture accumulate on the grill, causing odors and corrosion. Cleaning ensures hygiene and audio clarity.
Store condenser mics in a dry case with silica gel packs. Inspect XLR cables for pin damage and stress at connectors. Replace cables at the first sign of intermittent signal to avoid damaging equipment.
Condenser microphones are sensitive to humidity. Storing them dry protects the diaphragm.
