Troubleshooting

Common Failure Modes

Rubber gaskets failing and causing CO2 leaks are common over time. Plastic bottling mechanisms can snap if cross-threaded or forced.

Maintenance

Check CO2 Cylinder Seal

The rubber washer where the gas cylinder screws in can wear out or fall off, causing expensive CO2 gas to leak rapidly into the room.

Clean the Carbonation Nozzle

If a beverage foams over during carbonation, sticky liquid dries inside the gas nozzle. This leads to bacterial growth and clogs that prevent carbonation.

Inspect Carbonation Bottles

Plastic carbonation bottles are pressurized daily. Over time, the plastic weakens and can explosively rupture during carbonation if damaged.
