Subwoofers Maintenance

Regular maintenance tasks to keep your subwoofers running efficiently.

Check driver cone and surround

Inspect the woofer cone and rubber surround every 6 months for cracks, tears, or foam deterioration. Degrading surrounds cause rattling and air leaks that reduce bass output significantly.

Clean port tube and cabinet

Vacuum the port opening and surrounding area monthly. Ported subwoofers collect dust inside the cabinet that can rattle at high volumes. Wipe the cabinet with a damp cloth to prevent buildup.

Re-calibrate crossover and placement

Run room correction software annually or after any room changes. Optimal placement is typically corner-loaded or along a wall. Re-check phase alignment with main speakers for best integration.

Tighten Screws

Deep bass vibrations loosen the screws holding the driver to the cabinet. Retightening prevents rattling.
