Clean the stylus

Use a stylus brush (front to back only, never side to side) to remove dust before each listening session. A dirty stylus damages records and degrades sound quality. For deeper cleaning, use a stylus cleaning fluid every few weeks.

Replace the stylus

Stylus tips wear down over time and a worn stylus damages records permanently. Replace after approximately 500-1000 hours of play. If you hear distortion, sibilance, or the needle skips on records that previously played fine, it is time for a new stylus.

Turntable Maintenance Schedule

Clean stylus before every play session using a stylus brush. Clean records before playing to protect stylus and reduce noise. Check belt tension annually and lubricate motor bearings every few years.
