Troubleshooting
View all →Common Failure Modes
Drain pumps clog with debris. Door boots on front-loaders rip or grow mold, requiring replacement.
Maintenance
View all →Clean the Door Seal
Front-loading washers trap moisture and lint in the rubber door gasket, breeding mold and mildew. Wiping it prevents foul odors from transferring to clothes.
Empty the Drain Pump Filter
Coins, keys, and heavy lint get caught in the pump filter, causing drainage failures. Clearing it prevents water from backing up into the drum.
Run a Self-Clean Cycle
Detergent buildup and hard water minerals coat the outer drum over time. Running a high-heat clean cycle with a descaler removes this sludge.
