Troubleshooting

View all →

Common Failure Modes

Mineral scale buildup in the heating element is the primary cause of failure. Pumps in espresso machines or pod brewers fail after heavy use.

Maintenance

View all →

Clean brew group and grinder

For espresso machines, remove and rinse the brew group weekly. Run cleaning tablets monthly. For grinders, purge with cleaning granules every 2 weeks to remove stale oil buildup that makes coffee taste rancid.

Clean Filter Basket

Coffee oils build up and turn rancid, affecting taste. Weekly deep cleaning improves flavor.

Descaling

Mineral buildup from water clogs tubes and slows heating. Descaling restores speed and temperature.

Replace water filter cartridge

Swap the charcoal water filter every 2 months or 60 brew cycles. Old filters allow mineral buildup that clogs internal tubing and affects taste. Rinse new filters under water for 30 seconds before installing.
